FAQ

Common questions about the tests, the results and your data.

Is this an official IQ test?

No. An official IQ score needs a test standardised on a representative sample and given by a professional. Our IQ test has 16 reasoning tasks and shows the share you answered correctly, as a likely range.

Do the daily puzzles raise IQ?

No. They are practice for spotting patterns and solving reasoning problems. Research finds this kind of practice improves performance on the trained type of task, but does not support claims that it raises general intelligence (IQ). So we don't make that claim.

Do the tests cost anything?

All tests and the personal report are currently free. The full report may become paid in future; if so, the price will be shown before you pay, and it will be a one-time payment, not a subscription.

Why is my result a range instead of a single number?

Every short test has a margin of error. The range shows where your true result lies with 95% likelihood. A single number would promise precision that isn't there.

Where do the questions come from?

The personality items come from the International Personality Item Pool (ipip.ori.org) and are in the public domain. The reasoning tasks are our own.

How long do the tests take?

Temperament takes about 3 minutes, procrastination 2, the 16 personality types 5, EQ 7 and IQ 10. Anything you answer in one test is not asked again in the next. Extra questions to refine a result are optional.

Is my data stored?

Without an account your answers are stored anonymously, linked to a random identifier in your browser. If you log in with Telegram or Google, your name and the sign-in method's account ID are kept too (plus your username, for Telegram). Phone numbers, emails and IP addresses are never stored. Answers are used anonymously to calculate Uzbek-language norms.

Can I take a test again?

Yes. Every result page has a “Take it again” button: the test starts from the beginning, and when you finish, your new answers replace the old ones.

Can I see my results on another device?

Yes, if you log in with Telegram or Google. When you log in, the results in that browser are linked to your account, and you'll see them on any other device you log in from. Results taken without an account stay in that browser only.

Is this a psychological diagnosis?

No. IQ Lab is for self-understanding and learning, and it does not replace advice from a professional.
